Description: They are a small species of bat, only slightly larger than a pipistrelle. Their fur is long, thick and brown in colour, with their underside being a little paler. Their ears are the most striking feature, being enormous in relation to the rest of the body, in fact stretching almost the full length of both the head and body combined, they are rounded in shape rather than the more triangular shaped ears of the pipistrelle. When the bat is at rest, their ears are folded and tucked underneath the wings. They also have large eyes for a bat. |
