Welcome to the BATZ, the only unit of its kind in the UK, it combines a fully working heterodyne bat detector including built in speaker and LED torch, with a colourful fun casing and booklet which will appeal to a younger audience. We know from experience that kids are fascinated by bats and can really enjoy the thrill of heading through the woods, or perhaps to some caves at dusk to look for them. We think it offers a great opportunity to get children outdoors, and also to get families out walking and doing activities together. If people can capture the imagination of children on the wonderful subject of bats, then the BATZ is a great educational tool and the perfect accompaniment for those walks, and would make a great present for younger bat enthusiasts. The booklet which comes with the unit introduces Rick Batty, our cartoon bat who then proceeds to explain some of the more complex details surrounding these fascinating creatures, but in a language and format that children will warm to and understand. The BATZ has been specifically designed for the younger user, but it is still a fully functioning heterodyne detector covering frequencies from 18 to 120 kHz. It has a built in LED torch and integrated speaker to allow group listening. It also has a headphone jack to allow connection of a pair of headphones. It comes with a full colour booklet introducing Rick Batty our helpful cartoon bat who explains a variety of facts about bats in a simple and fun format. Requires a 9v battery which is not included with the device.
